After the Auckland floods in 2023, our home — like many others — was turned upside down.
Our kitchen, laundry, and entire bottom floor were gutted. It was a challenging time for our family.
A neighbour recommended The Kitchen Factory, and from the first meeting, they made everything feel manageable. The team took care of the whole process: from design, to removing the old kitchen, to manufacturing and installing our beautiful new kitchen and laundry (these are our photos).
Their experience, care, and attention to detail made all the difference.
And here’s the twist… we loved it all so much, we bought the company (actually, we bought the assets of the company but more about that below).
I’m Nigel King, and I’m proud to be leading The Kitchen Factory Limited. We have a new experienced production team, a computer controlled CNC cutting machine and new processes and systems to focus on our customer’s experience.

The new & old company FAQs
Q: Has The Kitchen Factory changed ownership?
A: Yes – as of 1 April 2025, The Kitchen Factory is now owned and operated by The Kitchen Factory Limited, led by Nigel King.
Q: So is The Kitchen Factory Limited, the same as the old company?
A: No. LSK Limited traded as The Kitchen Factory. We have bought the brand name, The Kitchen Factory, and their equipment and taken over their showroom and production facility. We are a different company but still use The Kitchen Factory because we love the name and it’s heritage.
Q: I’m a new client – who will be handling my project?
A: All new clients from 1 April onwards will be looked after by The Kitchen Factory Limited. You’re in great hands with our experienced team building on the quality and systems that were in place to drive improvements to the customer experience and even bigger plans ahead.
Q: I signed up before 1 April – who do I talk to?
A: If you began your kitchen, wardrobe or laundry project before 1 April 2025, your project remains with LSK Limited (Peter’s company), who previously traded as The Kitchen Factory.
Q: Why are there two different companies?
A: The Kitchen Factory brand and business has been purchased by Nigel King through a new company, The Kitchen Factory Limited. As part of the transition, earlier clients are being completed by the previous owner to ensure a smooth handover.
Q: Will I notice a difference with The Kitchen Factory Ltd?
A: Yes.We have retained some of the expert staff from LSK and added an experienced cabinet maker and production manager as well as Nigel’s expertise as Managing Directory. We are updating our systems and processes and are using a computer-controlled CNC cutting machine to improve quality and reduce waste. We have a new, bigger team and are investing to improve our customer service, order to delivery and installation experience. We also have new values which will drive how we run our business. Customer First is our first and most important value!
